This Cable Filter is meant for use on cable systems, when attached, it blocks the PPV signal that's sent to the cable company for billing. Your box will automatically give you the PPV event ordered once the order is placed but the filter will block the PPV signal from leaving the box, so legally you must alert your cable company of any "testing" your doing so that they can then bill you accordingly. If you are not a cable technician check with all laws before using this product.

With the advent of digital television, the suppliers of these services especially satellite had to come up with a whole new range of solutions to move painlessly into the digital age. Figure 1 demonstrates the severe effect of cable filtering on the kinetics of the fast, AMPA-receptor-mediated phase of the glutamatergic synaptic current. We calculated the current measured by a perfect voltage-clamp applied at one end of a long (effectively infinite) dendrite, of 2-µm diameter, using cable parameters in the middle of the ranges reported by Major et al. (1994)to our knowledge, the most detailed study of the cable properties of a mammalian central neuron (see Materials and Methods). The form of the AMPA conductance transient was specified as the difference of two exponentials, as described in Appendix A, with a rising time constant of 0.5ms, and a decay time constant of 2ms, similar to the fastest values reported in the literature (Häusser &Roth, 1997; Silver et al., 1992; Hestrin, 1993; Forsythe &Barnes-Davies, 1993), and to the deactivation kinetics of isolated AMPA receptors in fast perfusion experiments (Colquhoun et al., 1992). The measured current has the same shape as the underlying conductance when the synapse is located at the site of the voltage-clamp. As the synaptic input is moved away from the point of voltage-clamp, the measured current (solid lines) is slowed and diminished in amplitude. At /20 (90µm), the measured current is slowed by about 25%; at /4 (448µm), a situation similar to somatic recording of a distal input to a cortical pyramidal neuron, the apparent kinetics are slowed by more than a factor of 4.The distortion is worse in dendrites of smaller diameter.
