1. Butterfly
   The Butterfly Tattoo, published in 1992 and previously called The White Mercedes, is about one character who falls passionately in love, and suffers horribly from then on, as his innocent love is embroiled in a long cycle of revenge and hatred. It was Philip Pullman's first book for younger audiences (certainly not for children), which won him critical acclaim from many sources. Like much of his writing, it focuses on the truth and false appearances.
2. Tattoos -- Tattooing
   Tattoos have been in existence for centuries, though each culture has used it differently for different purposes and in varied styles. Some used them as ornaments, others for religious icons and yet others for personal reasons. The word tattoo... comes from the Tahitian tatu or to mark something.

   The typical fallen Angel tattoos usually pictured as a menacing looking angel, with a bloody sword in his hand. Other fallen angels are depicted with torn or injured wings, or even with horns. Fallen angels are popular with Goths and bikers in particular, as well as those who are devotees of Satan and the dark arts.

5. East of Eden
   In a sense, the effective translation of East of Eden to the large screen required a visual equivalent to the acting method pioneered by the Actors Studio, of which Kazan was a co-founder. Drawing on his own "emotional memory," the actor recalls feelings comparable to those experienced by a fictional character. A number of Kazan's actors, particularly Dean and Marlon Brando (in A Streetcar Named Desire), were practitioners of "the Method," which required a considerable degree of adaptation in terms of the cinematography. Through Kazan's visual style in East of Eden, the camera, in a manner similar to that used in the German Expressionist films of the 1920s, reflects the psychological aspects of the characters under its scrutiny. For example, the story, a modern version of the Biblical tale of Cain and Abel, centers on the relationship between a father and his two sons. Its point of view is that of the youngest son Cal who, like his Biblical counterpart Cain, performs certain acts that are subject to at least two interpretations.
6. Jude Law -- Sadie Frost
   Jude Law is a quintessential Londoner, being for a time a member of the 'Primrose Hill set' when he was married to Sadie Frost. He has been nominated for two Oscars for his roles in Cold Mountain and The Talented Mr Ripley, and has played in a variety of other Hollywood and British films such as Aviator, Breaking And Entering, Closer and the remake of Alfie.
7. Koi -- Koi Fish
   Koi is the Japanese word for "carp" and refers to the large, colorful fish that have been bred and kept in ponds for centuries. They are part of Japanese mythology and are symbols of strength, perseverance and courage. In myth, the very strong koi will be able to swim upstream and leap the waterfalls, being rewarded at the end of the journey by being turned into a dragon.
