Bush: George W Bush
built 140 days ago
Bush during his Harken days. George W. Bush is a failed oilman. Three times, friends and investors have bailed him out to keep his business from going bankrupt. However, in 1988, the same year his father becomes president, some Saudis buy a portion of his small company, Harken, which has never performed work outside of Texas. Later in the year, Harken wins a contract in the Persian Gulf and starts doing well financially. These transactions seem so suspicious that the Wall Street Journal in 1991 states it “raises the question of… an effort to cozy up to a presidential son.” Two major investors in Bush’s company during this time are Salem bin Laden and Khalid bin Mahfouz. Salem bin Laden dies in a plane crash in Texas in 1988.
George Bush was a former World War II pilot, Texas oil tycoon, Republican congressman, U.N. ambassador and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency before serving as vice president under Ronald Reagan. Promising a "kinder, gentler nation," Bush defeated Michael Dukakis in the 1988 presidential election. In spite of Bush's near-record popularity after military strikes against Panama and a successful war against Iraq, domestic discontent over economic and social issues took their toll, and he lost his bid for re-election in 1992 when he was defeated by Democrat Bill Clinton. Eight years later Bush's son George W. Bush followed Clinton as president after defeating Clinton's vice president, Al Gore, in the elections of 2000.

President George W. Bush has a case for going to war. It's a slim case, but a case. And he keeps undermining it with dishonest remarks. During his Thursday night press conference--only the eighth news conference of his presidency (Bill Clinton had logged 30 by this point in his first term)--Bush once again tried to argue for war. He offered nothing new. And, to be fair, at this stage of the game--after months of prep work--no one should expect to hear much in the way of fresh argument. But Bush took one more shot at explaining his thinking.

By George, you sure did a number on the good people of Texas? George W. Bush has a very weak grasp of the idea "freedom" and its significance in this country. George W. Bush ... seems to lack an understanding of the meaning of satire. Humor does require a measure of intelligence. Maybe that is his problem. With the invite and political machinery of the GOP establishment and wealthy fat cats, George W. Bush intends to squarely plop himself down in the White House. When considering his record of pandering to special interests, bald hypocrisy, weasel speak and the utterly hollow nature of the George W. Bush "vision", sensible people shudder.

U.S. President George W. Bush George W. Bush became president of the United States on 20 January 2001. Bush is the son of former U.S. president George Bush, who served from 1989-93. (The terms of father and son were separated by the two terms of Bill Clinton.) George W. Bush graduated from Yale in 1968. After serving as a pilot in the Texas National Guard, he attended Harvard Business School and then worked in the oil and gas industries until 1986, when he got involved in his father's successful 1988 presidential campaign. He returned to Texas and was elected governor there in 1994 and again in 1998. Bush won the Republican nomination for president in August of 2000, choosing Dick Cheney as his running mate.

George Bush, a compassionate conservative Republican presidential candidate Gary Bauer criticized Gov. George W. Bush for making fun of an executed Texas woman in an interview Bush gave to Talk magazine. "I think it is nothing short of unbelievable that the governor of a major state running for president thought it was acceptable to mock a woman he decided to put to death." Just before her execution date, Tucker appealed for clemency on the grounds that she had become a born-again Christian. Bush's reply: " `Please,' Bush whimpers, his lips pursed in mock desperation, `don't kill me,' "
