Bulma: Son Goku

Bulma is the second character to be introduced in the Dragon Ball series. In the early part of the story, she is the inventor of the Dragon Radar and is searching for the legendary Dragon Balls. Bulma was hoping to use the Dragon Balls to wish for the perfect boyfriend. While searching for a nearby Dragon Ball, she runs into Goku. It is at this time that she finds out Goku inherited one of the balls (the four-star ball) she is searching for from his Grandpa Gohan. Because of Goku's love for the ball and his belief that his Grandpa's spirit lives in the ball, Goku is not willing to give it up.

Tall, a great mother, extremely rich, and very smart, Bulma is head of the Capsule Corp. She used to go out with Yamcha but broke up with him when he said he wouldn't marry her. Later she finds out she has a son named Trunks, and even later she has a daughter named Bra. Vegeta is the father of both.

Bulma mellows out as the series continues, and it's not until she begins her relationship to Vegeta that her focus switches from Goku to him. She is often depicted at first to support Goku, as he is a good friend of hers. But her relationship with Vegeta and his rivalry with Goku that sparks a friendly rivalry with Chi Chi. However, she manages to remain one of Goku's strongest supporters due to their long friendship.

Bulma survived the androids' onslaught in the "Trunks Timeline," as seen in The History of Trunks special. Bulma lives at the former site of Capsule Corp, attempting to build a time machine. She's very protective of Trunks and hates the idea of him fighting, but ... allows him to take the time machine to the past to stop the androids and also deliver Goku an antidote for a heart virus that claimed his life in the alternate timeline.

Bulma turns out to be a great mother and raises her son very well. She is very proud of him like any good mother, but she isn't over protective like Chi-Chi. During the Budoukai, Bulma gets in a fight with an angry mother when Trunks beats the child up.

Bulma mellows out as the series continues, ultimatley befriending Vegeta and helping him adapt to Earth. She gradually switches her focus from Goku to Vegeta as this develops.
