Bulgaria is ... famous for its oleaginous rose, which blooms in the Valley of the Roses. A major fragrance manufacturer says: “Without a doubt, the Bulgarian rose oil is recognized worldwide as the ultimate rose oil. Bulgaria has a 330 year-old-tradition in essential rose oil distillation. Approximately 4000 kilograms of petals are required to produce 1 kilogram of pure rose oil. Bulgarian rose oil is steam distilled (not solvent extracted) and is 100% pure. Absolutely no carrier oils are added.” Many tourists come to Bulgaria every year just to spend a couple of heavenly mornings at the Valley of the Roses.
