Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Buffy Summers
built 352 days ago
Click to enlarge From the beginning, Buffy Summers is set up as a messiah figure. She is, after all, the Chosen One: “Into each generation a slayer is born. One girl in all the world, a Chosen One. One born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires, to stop the spread of evil.” She has been given a cup that she doesn’t want to drink from: her mission, her calling, is one she would rather run from or ignore rather than embrace. It’s not wrong to long for a “normal” life. Joseph Campbell, in his book The Hero Has a Thousand Faces, would call her the prototypical reluctant hero, in the tradition of Frodo or Luke Skywalker.
The Premium Format Buffy Summers Figure captures Buffy in one of her sleek and sexy little black dresses, equally ready for a night out or a graveyard battle. Stake in hand, Buffy exudes cool, seductive calm, but is prepared to slay any evildoers that she might encounter. The figure is cast in high quality polystone, and finished with a real fabric dress, tailored to perfectly fit your Buffy. The figure stands over 20" tall atop her detailed display base, and is sure to be the centerpiece of your Buffy collection.

Jane Espenson has explained how scripts came together.[23] First, the writers talked about the emotional issues facing Buffy Summers and how she would confront them through her battle against evil supernatural forces. Then the episode's story was "broken" into acts and scenes. Act breaks were designed as key moments to intrigue viewers so that they would stay with the episode following advertisements. The writers collectively filled in scenes surrounding these act breaks for a more fleshed-out story. A whiteboard marked their progress by mapping brief descriptions of each scene. Once "breaking" was done, the credited author wrote an outline for the episode, which was checked by Whedon or Noxon.
