Browning designed 6.25 mm Vest Pocket Pistol, which had risen to an annual high of 54,500 in 1928, began dropping off to match declining sales in the 1930’s. A: The gun you describe is a Browning Double Auto, designed by the late Val Browning, son of John M. Browning. This model was manufactured between 1952 and 1971 in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale. There were three variations in 12 gauge only: Standard, Twelvette and Twentyweight. The alloy frame was available in different colors including royal or light blue, satin gray, green, gold, black and brown. You might have measured the barrel length wrong since standard barrel lengths were 26, 261?2 (Twentyweight only), 28 or 30 inches with or without a vent rib. Depending on the condition and model, prices can range from $350 to $700 with a premium being paid for rare color frames.
