The Browning Firearms Museum celebrates the genius of John M. Browning, inventor of many sporting and military firearms. Displays feature original prototypes designed in Ogden, Utah by Browning, along with production models manufactured by Winchester, Remington, and Colt. The collection includes the BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle), mainstay of the US Army for 80 years. The museum ... features the work of Jonathan, Val A., and Bruce B. Browning (grandfather, son and grandson) representing four generations of Browning inventors.

The Browning Firearms Museum showcases John M. Browning's gun inventions, many of which were built by Winchester, Colt, Remington, and others to become the firearms of choice in the Old West before Browning formed his own company. Original models and working prototypes of many of these weapons are displayed. Gun aficionados will feel like they're in a candy store.

Browning was born in Ogden, Utah, and established an arms factory there with five brothers. Over the years, Ogden was the site of several workshops in which John Browning designed firearms. The Browning Arms Company was acquired by Fabrique Nationale in 1977. Ogden city owns and operates the museum.

A large formal banquet hall shares the second floor with the Browning Firearms Museum. The old mail terminal is now the M.S. Browning Theater. The theater seats 500 for music and drama productions, and may ... be used for banquets, conventions, dances and exhibits.
