Britney Spears father, Jamie, and attorneys for Britney had a closed door meeting today that lasted for what was reported to be half an hour. Despite the meeting being hushed, it’s being surmised that Britney’s dad is getting a bit more control of different matters concerning her welfare.

On Saturday, January 3 2004, Britney Spears married her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander at The Little White Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple promptly arranged for an annulment, which occurred on Monday, January 5, 2004, ending their 55-hour marriage.

When the new edition of the Billboard 200 chart is released Wednesday, it will show that the No. 1 album in America is "Blackout" from Britney Spears. But in reality, the bestselling album in the country over the last week was in fact "Eden" -- because it was sold exclusively through Wal-Mart stores and the veteran band's website, "Eden" is ineligible for the Billboard tally.

Britney is getting what she asks for in the lead single, "Gimmie More" off her latest album Blackout: More time in the UCLA Medical Center's psych ward she was forced to admit to last Thursday for mental evaluation. Spears, whose 3 day stint was to end on Sunday, will now stay another two weeks, thanks to a section in state law that allows patients to be kept for medical treatment if they are found to be gravely disabled or a danger to themselves or others.
