Rumors have been flying around saying that Britney Spears will appear to plug her debut big-screen role in What Are Friends For. No truth to the rumor yet. To read more click here to see the article in the Daily Record. Thanks A51JM.
Britney Spears Cel Phone Shot Britney has sold 83 million records since the release of her debut album in 1999, bringing in more than $400 million to Jive Records, her recording company. Even her 2007 album sold well, despite her troubles. Her tours have grossed nearly $150 million; the average take for her 265 solo shows is $583,138, according to Pollstar, which tracks touring data. But there's a lot more of Britney for sale than her music: Pure Nightclub in Las Vegas reportedly sold seats at a table next to hers for $50,000 at a recent bash, and she still commands between $250,000 and $400,000 just for showing up at events. Elizabeth Arden has sold nearly $100 million worth of its Britney perfumes—Believe, Curious, and Fantasy. PepsiCo determined that it was worth paying her a reported $4 million to $10 million for a short-lived ad gig.

AP reported that Britney would love to do a duet with Madonna, but says actress Julia Roberts is her role model. "Julia Roberts is my idea of the perfect woman," 19-year-old Spears tells Glamour magazine in its May issue. "She seems very vibrant - her energy is electric - and she seems very at peace with herself, so high on life." Spears was interviewed in Los Angeles while rehearsing for her first movie, a coming-of-age drama directed by Tamra Davis, who directed 1995's "Billy Madison." She plays a straight-A student who embarks on a road trip with two childhood friends. Although Spears and Madonna have declared their mutual admiration, prompting buzz about a duet, Spears told Glamour that "with record-company politics, I don't think it's going to work out."
In November, she released her third album, Britney. It debuted at number one on both the U.S. and Canadian charts, selling over 746,000 units during its first week in the U.S. This made her the only female artist in SoundScan history to have her first three albums debut at number one. Although four million copies of the record have been sold in the U.S., and almost four and a half to-date, it was a decline from the sales of her first two albums, and “I’m a Slave 4 U” was the album’s only hit single in the U.S. Britney was the first album on which Spears assumed some creative control; she co-wrote five of the album’s tracks. Spears set off on her next world tour, the Dream Within a Dream Tour, shortly after its release. The Britney album has sold a total of 15 million copies worldwide.

britney spears bikini gossip Ed. note: From Rolling Stone - "The new rule, dubbed 'The Screw Britney Clause' by industry insiders, denied Brit̢۪s comeback album from the top spot it had earmarked for the entire week." Blackout has secured the number-one spot in Europe, Canada and Ireland and even set a new record for digital sales in the States. Spears has officially sold more digital albums in her first week of release than any other female artist, and Blackout is still at the top of the iTunes chart.
