The pop star who seems to be unable to go anywhere without paparazzi, managed to slip out unnoticed and her family was beginning to worry about her safety. Britney Spears' original 72-hour stay in a psychiatric hospital was extended by two weeks following the advice of her psychiatrist. Under a section in California state law, patients can be kept for medical treatment if they are found to be gravely disabled or a danger to themselves or others.
