Breckenridge, located in Stephens County, is a progressive community with a great quality of life, extensive educational and business opportunities. Breckenridge is surrounded by three area lakes, and has superb hunting available. Situated at the crossroads of U.S. Highways 180 and 183, Breckenridge has an airport with a 5000 foot runway and an Automated Weather Observation System which will be active in mid 2007. The airport has 24 hour fuel service, (100LL & Jet A) and pilot control runway lighting. There are several industries located in the industrial park. Breckenridge has an excellent school system and a local Texas State Technical College.

Breckenridge barn Summer: In the summer, Breckenridge opens the Jack Nicklaus designed municipal golf course. The 40 mile paved bike path that extends to Vail is a breathtaking ride. There are more than 200 miles of back country hiking and biking trails in the Arapahoe National Forest. The SuperSlide and SuperChair are fun for the whole family. Don't forget rafting, fly fishing, 4-wheelin', horseback riding and, of course . . . shopping! Classical concerts for 2 months during the summer with the Breckenridge Music Festival.
The Town of Breckenridge can boast that it is the only municipality in the world to own a Jack Nicklaus designed, 27-hole golf course. The course opened for play in 1985. During the summer 2001 golf season, the Town opened another nine holes ... designed by Nicklaus and every bit as challenging as the original 18-holes. The new Elk nine as it is named, offers more elevation change than the Bear and Beaver nines.
The Village of Breckenridge, the fourth largest community in Gratiot County is located along M-46, in the Central Michigan area. The Village was incorporated in 1908.
