Bratz was created by toy designer Carter Bryant. In 2000, he met with Isaac Larian the CEO of Micro-Games America Entertainment (MGA Entertainment).[1] There, Mr. Bryant presented his pictures to Mr. Larian, who found that the concept sketches enthralled his daughter, Jasmin, who was visiting the office at the time.

The studio has acquired from Crystal Sky Pictures the U.S. distribution rights to the first feature film based on the popular Bratz(TM) characters, tentatively entitled BRATZ: THE MOVIE. Crystal Sky Pictures is financing the live action feature film, directed by Sean McNamara (RAISE YOUR VOICE, "That's So Raven") and written by Susan Estelle Jansen (THE LIZZIE MCGUIRE MOVIE). MGA's Isaac Larian, Arad Productions' Avi Arad, and Crystal Sky's Steven Paul are producing the picture, and Crystal Sky Pictures president Benedict Carver will executive produce.

Scholastic Canada's licensing deal with MGA Canada to market the Bratz books in its school flyers and sell them at book fairs came into effect last month and is set to expire at the end of 2008. Schools that distribute the Scholastic catalogues and host the book fairs receive a share of profits from sales.
