In the 1999 film Fight Club, Brad Pitt's character made a fortune selling handmade soap rendered from stolen liposuction fat. It's a ghastly scenario, to say the least. Well, Artecel Sciences has a plan for the waste that you'll be able to stomach. The Durham, North Carolina, company uses left over "human adipose tissue" from liposuction clinics to develop novel therapies for cancer patients, bone marrow transplants, and cosmetic tissue repair. By extracting undifferentiated "stromal" cells from the fat, the company grows purified bone, fat, and cartilage cells. The new cells can be used to repair wrinkles and scars, or to encourage the growth of new red blood cells in cancer patients and bone marrow recipients in a process called "hematopoietic" support.

In 1998, Pitt starred as the main character in the film Meet Joe Black, where he played a personification of Death inhabiting the body of a young man in order to learn what it is like to be human. The film gave Pitt another chance to work alongside Welsh actor Sir Anthony Hopkins, with whom he had previously worked on Legends of the Fall. In 1999, Pitt starred in Fight Club, an adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's novel. Directed by Se7en's David Fincher, Pitt portrayed the highly complex and colorful character of Tyler Durden.

As you can see in the photos, Pitt was in pretty impressive shape in Troy, good muscle size and great proportion. He was ... not looking so top heavy as he had in previous films (meaning his legs looked too skinny compared to his upper body). In Troy he’d visibly put some good mass on his thighs, which gave him a good overall appearance and a more proportionate physique. Weight training wise Pitt bought down the rep ranges compared to when he trained for Fight Club, he also lifted heavier this enabled him to add some muscle bulk.

Like many A-list stars, Pitt does not normally perform in American television commercials, instead opting to do commercials that are seen in Asia only, most notably for Edwin Jeans, the Toyota Altis, and Japanese canned coffee, ROOTS. A notable exception to this is a Heineken commercial which aired during the 2005 Super Bowl. It was directed by David Fincher, who directed Pitt in the feature films Se7en and Fight Club.

In order to get that muscular and shredded look for the movie "Fight Club", Brad used an intense workout routine for amazing results. His workout was characterized by focusing on one muscle group up each day, then giving it the rest of the week to recover. This is very beneficial for adding muscle mass fast, because muscles grow during rest periods and not during the actual time in the gym.
