Bouncer is one of the two types of Big Daddies. Bouncers are more agile than Rosies, the other type of Big Daddy, but are entirely ineffective in ranged combat. The Bouncer's main weapon is an oversized drill attached to its right arm. They generally attack using powerful blows at close range, with a fast charge being their only offensive long range ability. Later on in the game, the player encounters Elite Bouncers, which use a spinning harpoon instead of a drill, are decorated with red stripes and are more difficult to deal with than the earlier Bouncers. The bouncers' distinctive helmets, with multiple small portholes and protection cages, appear to be based on the French Carmagnolle type of diving suit.
Bouncers with the thought bomb. Only one Bouncer was spared the madness: Laa. Earlier, this old Bouncer had saved the life of a small Human girl. The girl, Rain, was a recruit for the Army of Light, but never reached them when the starship she was on was damaged by Sith Buzzards. Rain fell many meters from the ship, before Laa caught her in mid-air. Rain proved to be very strong in the Force, and instinctively protected Laa from the Sith firestorm. Laa's decision had significant consequences for the future of the Sith.
The Bouncer state machine has a set of static registers. These exist at bounce time, not at run time; they represent the state of what the Bouncer knows about the actions of the program code before and after each instruction. Some of the static Bouncer registers are:

The Bouncer and Anteas Jr. catapult into battle. Artist: Louis Ferstadt. The Bouncer lasted five issues, and appeared only in the lead story of each one — the rest was filler, such as Rocket Kelly and One Round Hogan. The first was unnumbered and the rest numbered 11-14 (it's believed to have been a continuation of The Green Mask's title, despite the fact that another Green Mask started at the same time... using the same numbering). The last (which reprinted the first) was dated January, 1945. Since then, nobody seems to have expressed much interest in reviving or reprinting him.

Monster Image Bouncer (General Khazard's dog) is level 137! The dog has to be defeated, from start to finish, to work correctly. Anyone else killing the dog results in absolutely nothing, meaning you have to start all over again. Bouncer is aggressive and will follow you no matter what. After you kill it, General Khazard will attack you but do not fear running away from him; you can finish the quest without killing him.

Bouncer was given to Lucy Robinson by Mike Young after he failed to save Lucy's pet terrier Basil from drowning. When Lucy left, Bouncer was given into Mike's care and Lucy let him stay at No. 28 with them when she returned. Bouncer then befriended Mrs. Mangel and a battle between Mike and Mrs. Mangel ensued over who Bouncer should live with and it was resolved by letting Bouncer choose for himself. He ran to Mrs. Mangel rather than Mike, and Mike agreed to let Bouncer live at No. 32 with her. After Mrs. Mangel married John Worthington and moved to England, she left Bouncer in the care of her son Joe. Joe's son Toby arrived and soon became Bouncer's owner.
