The Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UGBC), formed in 1968, is led by the president and vice president, who are elected in the spring of each year by the entire student body. UGBC's goal is to serve the students by providing services and opportunities and by representing them in the best manner possible to the university community. To accomplish this goal, UGBC provides many educational, social, and cultural programs, such as concerts, lectures, roundtables, and other programs.

Boston College has won two national championships in hockey, in 1949 and 2001. The 2001 championship run was capped by a thrilling overtime goal by Kris Kolanos over the University of North Dakota, 3-2 OT.

Designed by Charles Donagh Maginnis and his firm, Maginnis & Walsh, in 1908, the Boston College campus is a seminal example of Collegiate Gothic architecture. Publication of its design in 1909 — and praise from influential American Gothicist Ralph Adams Cram — helped establish Collegiate Gothic as the prevailing architectural style on American university campuses for much of the 20th Century. Gasson Hall, BC's signature building, is credited for the typology of dominant Gothic towers in subsequent campus designs, including those at Princeton University's Graduate College (Cleveland Tower, 1913 to 1917), at Yale University (Harkness Tower, 1917 to 1921), and at Duke University (Chapel Tower, 1930 to 1935). Combining Gothic Revival architecture with principles of Beaux-Arts planning, Maginnis proposed a vast complex of academic buildings set in a cruciform plan. The design suggested an enormous outdoor cathedral, with a long entry drive at the "nave," the main quadrangle at the "apse" and secondary quadrangles at the "transepts." At the "crossing," Maginnis placed the university's main building, which he called "Recitation Hall."

The University-wide Information Portal will become the desktop for all members of the Boston College community. Unfortunately at Boston College and every college and university there are multiple independent portal projects in process. As a result, there is poor coordination, an absence of a standard technology architecture, and very little management insight and control. This disjointed approach has resulted because there is no clear-cut definition of a University-wide Information Portal, and there is no technical guidance that will help software vendors and their customers to build applications which will interact with these information portals. Boston College and the other participating colleges and universities within the JA-SIG have banded together to provide that guidance and to eliminate duplicity of effort. The group will define a Common Reference Portal (CPR) framework -- a set of technical specifications to construct a university-wide information portal.

With the firm since 1987, he concentrated in market definition and assessment, development of segment-specific strategies, processes and organizations, and implementation of strategic growth initiatives for an array of clients. Prior, Drury held key positions at The Allen Group and SC Johnson Wax. He received a BA from Boston College and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
