Basketball fans in New England and students at Boston College really don't have a reason not to get tickets to a game this season. The Eagles constantly put forth a great basketball program and have made deep NCAA tournament runs in the past few seasons.

GAME NOTES: A pair of teams coming off buzzer-beating victories collide at Cameron Indoor Stadium this evening, as the Boston College Eagles tussle with the 10th-ranked Duke Blue Devils from Durham. BC was last in play on Tuesday, when it used a three-pointer at the buzzer to defeat Florida State 85-82. It was the seventh win in the past eight games by the Eagles, who improved to 14-5 overall. The victory ... kept the team, coming into the weekend, a half- game ahead of both North Carolina and Virginia Tech for first place in the ACC at 6-1. As for Duke, it took on Clemson on Thursday and thanks to a little help from the officials and a layup at the buzzer, it was able to escape with a 68-66 triumph. It was team's 20th straight win over Clemson and its fourth in a row following an 0-2 start to league play this season.

Boston College was hoping for a shot at a national title a few weeks ago, but after consecutive losses to Florida State and Maryland, the Eagles are traveling to Death Valley with their hopes for a division title in the balance. Clemson has won four in a row and the winner of this one gets a spot in the A.C.C. title game in Jacksonville with a shot at a B.C.S. berth. The last two seasons, losses to Boston College (both in overtime) have kept the Tigers out of the A.C.C. title game, but this season seems like Clemson’s chance to reverse recent history and maybe even win its first league title since 1991.

The Boston College Eagles should be embarrassed by what took place at Alumni Stadium on Saturday night. No, not for loss -- although losing to FSU is certainly not the badge of honor it once was -- but rather for what transpired in the stands and on the scoreboards during the game.

GAME NOTES: Sitting all alone atop the ACC standings, the Boston College Eagles put their flawless 5-0 league mark on the line this afternoon, as they invade Littlejohn Coliseum to battle the 19th-ranked Clemson Tigers. Al Skinner's troops have won six straight games and kept their unblemished league mark intact with Tuesday's 82-63 rout of Miami-Florida. The Tigers know a thing or two about perfect records, as they were the last team in the nation to sport one, going 17-0 to start the season. Things have changed a bit in conference play ... as Clemson has dropped back-to-back games to Maryland (92-87) and most recently, North Carolina (77-55). Clemson leads the series with BC by a count of 3-2. The Eagles however, won last year's game in Chestnut Hill, 67-61.
