Today it isn't clear who is really buried in Daniel's Kentucky grave. According to the Missouri version of the story, the grave that was meant for Daniel Boone - beside his wife Rebecca - was already occupied. Apparently he was laid to rest either at Rebecca's head or at her feet.
One day a bear chased Daniel Boone when he was in the wilderness. Bears and other animals lived in the forest where Daniel built the road. Color this picture of a bear. You can make the bear look real or make-believe.

Editor's Note: Another legislative session brings about another effort to rename a highway in honor of Daniel Boone. Current efforts are focused on renaming US 25E between Corbin and Middlesboro—which roughly follows the route of Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Trail in honor of the early explorer. The former Daniel Boone Parkway between London and Hazard is likely to remain named for U.S. Representative Hal Rogers.
