Over the course of her career, Bonnie Raitt has slowly become something of an institution. She's had quite a life - learning to play the guitar at the age of 12, she quickly became a virtuoso and spent her teenage years playing R'n'B clubs around Boston.

At times, Bonnie is a self-conscious vocalist and the tension in her voice is evident. So are the good times, struggles, exhaustion, creativity caught by this informal, somewhat bizarre recording. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. Later she would become famous for her bottleneck-style guitar playing. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview.
