The Bomber starters officially ended their night after the first play of the second half. The coaches were just hoping to let Marcelino stretch his legs a but he must have been anxious to call it a night because he took the ball the full 71 yards for the touchdown to make the score 51-0.

A variant of the bomber replaced the warhead bay with a small cargo bay that could hold two passengers. This craft could ferry personnel from one ship to another or from a ship to a planetary base. Captain Lorth Needa used a shuttle of this type to personally apologize to Darth Vader for losing track of Millennium Falcon. However, it is likely that most important personnel usually use the Lambda shuttle. As the shuttle was not designed in time for The Empire Strikes Back, the TIE/sh may have been a stopgap. The boarding craft is shown in the depiction of the Star Destroyer Devastator for Star Wars: Incredible Cross-Sections.

BOMBER shatters the myths of glory-based wartime fly-boy stories. Len Deighton's portrayal of a single day during WWII serves to knock readers right between the eyes with the raw ugliness of armed conflict. James Faulkner adds to this memorable experience through his wonderful vocal impressions of this large and complex cast of characters. He seems to somehow project the essence of major characters into his reading. Action sequences are presented with real emotion that draws listeners into each dogfight and interpersonal conflict. Although the book does lose a bit of steam at midpoint, Faulkner's presentation keeps listeners on track to a conclusion that is worth the wait.

The next Bomber drive went three-and-out and Moses Lake started another drive on their own 28-yard line. Again, the Chiefs were on the move and eating up large chunks of turf on their way. Enter Sunshine. With the Chiefs well inside the 20-yard line Jake intercepted the ball on the 2-yard line and ran it back 27 yards, ending the threat.

[I]n December, shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, police received a bizarre letter, allegedly from the bomber. Using the same block-style handwriting and paper type as the previous note, the bomber declared that he would cease his activities for the duration of the war, but added, "I WILL BRING THE CON EDISON TO JUSTICE - THEY WILL PAY FOR THEIR DASTARDLY DEEDS." It was signed simply, "F.P." Apparently eager to get his message out, "F.P." sent similar missives - seventeen letters in all - to newspapers and local businesses, including Con Edison.
