Developed by a world-renowned team of exercise scientists and sports nutritionists, Boiling Point is a powerful and advanced fat loss formula! Recognizing that everyone is different and that many different factors are involved in weight loss, our scientific experts formulated Boiling Point to promote fat loss in no fewer than four different ways: by enhancing the breakdown of existing body fat by preventing the formation of new body fat by controlling appetite and by stimulating massive increases in metabolic rate (calorie burning) for hours on end. Never in the history of the supplement industry has so much technology been crammed into a two-capsule dose!
Boiling Point software is a exciting, fresh company - the development team currently a one man show, creating nifty MacOS X shareware utilities. Its first release is a small shareware utility called RubberDockey.
Like so many other aspects of Boiling Point , the quality of the sound has both positive aspects and glaring defects. Ambient noise in the jungle, weather effect sounds, and gunshots all sound great. However, several NPCs seem to be missing their vocal cords, as the player will experience no small number of “sound-free” conversations throughout the game. In another case of a glitch that should have been fixed in pre-production, firing several gunshots in quick succession sometimes leads to the game “skipping over” some of the noises; this may be something small, but in a game that tries to come across as “immersive,” it’s difficult to suspend disbelief when I fire six shots and hear two or three of them.

In Boiling Point: Road to Hell, gamers will travel to the present day jungles of South America and battle competing factions in a brutal guerrilla war. Developer Deep Shadows' innovative game engine streams the environment dynamically, creating a non-linear gameplay experience, with no loading times or separate levels, creating a continuous world spanning hundreds of miles. To make the most of the environment, a massive range of vehicles will be at the disposal of the player, as well as a vast array of weapons. The wide open game world features an array of different AI factions with which the player can interact, and hundreds of diverse missions to create an original experience each time the game is played.

The music in Boiling Point consists of a few extremely short tunes that play in a fashion akin to that of a randomly generated playlist. However, therein lies the problem. Given that the soundtrack is randomized, it rarely feels like the music has anything whatsoever to do with what is taking place in the game. Compare this with the countless games in which the soundtrack isn’t set on “shuffle/repeat,” and it becomes apparent that this detracts from the overall product. As for the music itself, it’s nothing to write home about. Although they aren’t painful to listen to, most of the short instrumental songs played in the background sound like they were based off of the developers’ conception of “generic stereotypical South American music.”

The storyline in Boiling Point isn’t what I’d describe as “engaging,” but it sets the stage for the beginning of the game. The player assumes the role of Saul Myers, a member of the Foreign Legion. His daughter, a journalist working in the fictional country of Realia (a country that appears to be modeled after Columbia), is kidnapped by an unknown party while working on a news story; this leads Myers, the violence-prone (and alcoholic, according to the phone calls that the player periodically receives) Mario to her information-chasing Toadstool, to show up in the town of Puerto Sombra with nothing but a few possessions and a wad of bills.
