The latest Boeing theft is a milestone of sorts. According to the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, a nonprofit that has tracked data breaches in the United States since February 2005, the number of records reported to have been exposed by such incidents has now passed the 100 million mark.

From 1997 to 2003 he held two high-level positions with the State of Washington: director of the Department of Revenue and later chief of staff to Gov. Gary Locke. He was a senior manager in the Seattle office of Arthur Andersen before his positions with the state, and a vice president of Washington Mutual Bank in Seattle prior to that.
