Boeing has ... contracted with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) for the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies and the digitization of engineering drawings. Beginning in 1991 with detailed parts manufacturing, HAL’s manufacturing role for Boeing grew to include becoming the single source for 757 Overwing Exit Doors and 777 Main Landing Gear Uplock Boxes. Today, HAL continues to provide the 777 Uplock Boxes for all of Boeing’s production requirements and digitization services on demand.

In 1967, Boeing introduced another short- and medium-range airliner, the twin-engine 737. It has become since then the best-selling commercial jet aircraft in aviation history. The 737 is still being produced, and continuous improvements are made. Several versions have been developed, mainly to increase seating capacity and range.

Today, Boeing's commercial aircraft division faces serious competition from only one other manufacturer - the European consortium Airbus Industrie. While Airbus seems to be taking the lead in the area of high-capacity aircraft with its double-decker jumbo jet, the A380, Boeing is countering by developing an aircraft able to fly over .95 Mach and over distances of 11,500 miles.

Although Boeing bought out McDonnell Douglas and sold some of their aircraft there is a McDonnell Douglas group for them. The only pictures accepted here of MD aircraft will be the MD-11, MD-10, MD-90, 717 and the military C-17 all of which were modified and sold under Boeing.

The current production goal for Boeing is to produce around 112 aircraft in 2008 and 2009, on average one per 3 days, while almost doubling production in 2010 to 10 aircraft a month.
