There are many kinds of paint that is used for body painting including textile acrylics, theatrical body paint, and temporary tattoo paint. Whatever paint you use it needs to have the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) non-toxic label. However the label "nontoxic" does not mean completely safe or nonhazardous in any case, and refers only to exposure to adults, not children so research carefully the body paint you are painting to use before making your choice. The Art & Creative Materials Institute, Inc. (ACMI) ... certifies art products in regards to non-toxicity. The (ACMI) certification also requires that the product maintains a level of quality.
