Blow-Up (1966) is writer/director Michelangelo Antonioni's view of the world of mod fashion, and an engaging, provocative murder mystery that examines the existential nature of reality through photography. Antonioni's first film in English, it quickly became one of the most important films of its decade, and a milestone in liberalized attitudes toward film nudity and expressions of sexuality. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards (with no wins): Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay (Edward Bond, Michelangelo Antonioni, and Tonino Guerra).

Blow molding is another common type of plastic molding. In this process a plastic tubular form, produced by extrusion or injection molding, is used to form the part. This form, called a parison, is softened inside a mold and then injected with air orother compressed gas. This expands the parison against the sides of the moldcavity, forming a hollow object the size and shape of the mold. Blow molding is often used to produce plastic vessels and containers.

Blow Up took over the Metro in November 2001, before which it was known primarily for hosting clubs, not as a live venue. (The venue was originally called Oxfords years ago, not Plastic People which was a few doors down.) In January 2003, in a space of just over a year, the Metro was awarded Time Out Venue of the Year after playing host to some of the hottest shows in London in 2002. It's now one of the venues of choice for discerning gig goers too, who can see some of the most exciting gigs in town, making it a great place to see bands just before they explode. Most shows are followed by clubs including long-running nights such Blow Up (Sat), Bedrock (Fri) and Beautiful People (Tues), and newer clubs such as The Bunker (Thurs). Club highlights so far have included: Courtney Love hitting the decks at Alan McGee's Death Disco, Jack and Meg White turning up to our very unofficial "We Love The White Stripes!"

BizRate Customer Certified (GOLD) Site Designed by Ferdi Giardini, the Blow ceiling fan is truly unique. It is possible the only “fan with the light above its blades” and is protected by an industrial patent. Thanks to its sophisticated electronics, both the light and the fan can be operated by an infrared remote control. Blow ... has an operating switch that can be used to reverse the blade rotation so as to regenerate the continuous and one-way air flow. The blades, with their particular profile and transparency, make the light elegant and easy on the eye. The exceptionally quiet motor (only 32 dB), is mounted on ball-bearings inside the opaline polycarbonate bearing case.

Blow-Hard was a mutant possessed of the superhuman ability to psionically draw on nearby molecules of oxygen and focus them in order to generate high-velocity gale-force winds. Blow-Hard could then utilize these winds to create disorienting wind funnels, compressed air blasts, or rapidly-spinning whirlwinds. Blow-Hard used a corncob pipe to help focus and direct this power.

With a title like Blow, you can't help but expect a huge rush. Though with the main character's luck, it could just as easily have been titled "Against All Odds". Regardless, instead of deifying an unlikely hero a la Scarface, Blow proves to be its antithesis. It's about the rise and inevitable fall of George Jung, and how everyone else is to blame.
