The Bloodhound Gang, not to be confused with that musical act of questionable behavior, was a smart team of apprentices for the Bloodhound Detective Agency in (by all looks of things) Kenilworth, New Jersey. The gang consisted of Vikki, the super-observant leader; Ricardo, the photographer/amateur magician; and a younger member. The first season was divided between Zach and Cuff, both of whom ran the detective agency CB.

In March 1995 the Bloodhound Gang signed a record deal with Columbia Records. They put out their first full-length album, titled Use Your Fingers. They began touring around the United States. At this time Daddy Long Legs and M.S.G., angry with Columbia Records, left the band to form another rap group, Wolfpac. Bass player Evil Jared Hasselhoff and Turntablist Tard-E-Tard joined the group as replacements. When the tour ended, the deal with Columbia Records was dropped and band members Skip O'Pot2Mus and Tard-E-Tard left to pursue a career in the customer service industry.[1]
photo While some may take a dim view of the group's mischievous music, the Bloodhound Gang has cultivated an intensely loyal following. Hell-bent on goring sacred cows, the group's members are the undisputed clown princes of rock. Featuring singer/songwriter Jimmy Pop, guitarist Lupus Thunder, bassist Evil Jared Hasselhoff, drummer Willie the New Guy and DJ Q-Ball, the Bloodhound Gang splattered on the international music scene in 1996 with their Republic Records debut album, One Fierce Beer Coaster. The disc, which sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S., resulted in the hit single and video "Fire Water Burn." The track was the most requested song on alternative radio and captured a Grammy nomination.

The Bloodhound Gang are scheduled to take their "One Fierce Beer Run" tour around the world several times throughout 1997. 1998 will bring the release a home video documenting the last two years of the Bloodhound Gang's illustrious career called "One Fierce Beer Run" (it will include the videos, lots of live and backstage stupidity, and videos made exclusively for the home video), songbook for all of you who can't figure out our mongoloid-esque chord progressions, and another full-length record to be released late summer. 1999 will bring 'Leftovers', an E.P. of tracks that were either previously unreleased by Republic, banned by Geffen, or written specifically for other projects, But even more important than Bloodhound Gang's mission to entertain is their sworn oath to offend all. Jimmy explains, "We try to hurt everyone's feelings; it makes us feel better about ourselves".

The Bloodhound Gang got its name from Mr. James Bloodhound (conceivably a private detective) who was perpetually absent from his office, presumably dealing with "adult" cases. Whenever a youth of the Bloodhound Gang would answer the phone, they would say, "Bloodhound Detective Agency, wherever there's trouble we're there on the double. Mr. Bloodhound isn't here!" and accept cases suited to their age, such as exposing frauds. The Bloodhound Gang segments were short, and most (though not all) adventures lasted multiple episodes. In line with 3-2-1 Contact's focus on educational content, the gang often used their knowledge of science to solve crimes.
The Bloodhound Gang returned with a new member, Skip. In contrast to Zach and Cuff, who one observer said just hung around, Skip was the computer whiz who complemented Vikki and Ricardo immeasurably.
