Bloodhound Gang: Band
built 348 days ago
The Bloodhound Gang first started out as a small alternative band in 1992 called Bang Chamber 8. The band consisted of Jimmy Pop and Daddy Long Legs. They graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School. They released one known tape, which was self titled. Soon they changed their name to the Bloodhound Gang and changed their musical style. Their new name referred to "The Bloodhound Gang", a segment on the 1980s PBS kids' show 3-2-1 Contact which featured three young detectives solving mysteries and fighting crime.

The Bloodhound Gang scheißen auf alles.

Unable to get booked at any clubs, the Bloodhound Gang first performed in the extra room at Evil Jared Hasselhoff's house, in exchange for Schlitz, Marlboros, and a chance to hand out their first demo tape, entitled Just Another Demo. When the floor caved in one night, they began performing every month at CBGBs in New York City. When asked about the band's tenure at the club, Jimmy Pop was quoted as saying, "I've seen cavemen with better clubs."[2][1]

Bloodhound Gang is coming to Finland for two concerts in August. The American band, best known for their hit “Fire Water Burn” (with its catchy chorus line The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire) will play Helsinki’s Nosturi on 26 August and the Himos Areena in Jämsä one day earlier. Ticket sales will start on Friday 20 July.

Though the Bloodhound Gang has achieved cult hero status in the U.S., their foreign fan base is massive. The band's recordings have been certified platinum in New Zealand, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Sweden and elsewhere. Ironically, this band that prides itself on acting like ugly Americans has become a global phenomenon.

With a familiar brand of kitschy, non sequitur-laced rock, Detroit's Electric Six could be considered a garage/new-wave Bloodhound Gang, though their sense of humor seems a little less planned-out. A song like "Dance Commander" feels like an Internet viral video: on-the-spot silliness with no finite punch line. The band's 2003 breakout single, "Danger! High Voltage!"
