Bloc Party: Weekend In The City
built 618 days ago
In writing and recording the songs on A Weekend in the City, Bloc Party's eyes and ears have roamed far and wide. "Waiting For The 7.18" is rebooted drum'n'bass with lovely chiming keyboards. "We were going for a real Richard D James [Aphex Twin] sound," says Okereke. It sounds nothing like Bloc Party. "That was the idea."

After a short intermission 40 minutes into the set, Bloc Party returned to the stage to perform more crowd favorites such as “Hunting for Witches” off its most recent disc A Weekend in the City. The concert reached a peak when they performed the song “Luno,” an upbeat song featuring a tantalizing guitar sequence. A mosh pit formed immediately in front of the stage as crowd surfers were transported to the front of the standing-room-only section of the audience.
