On September 26th, 2007 Bloc Party played their new single "Flux" at the Madison Theater in Covington, KY. The song featured Gordon Moakes playing a Korg synth and was the first time the new single "Flux" was played live.

Bloc Party began its world tour Sunday night at the Paramount with a dynamic and energetic set that pulled equally from both albums. The common denominator to any Bloc Party song is the tension between the dueling guitars that repeatedly pit drone against jag. Meanwhile, the rhythm section, often siding with the steely twang of the lead guitar, augments the bouncing energy with a variety of hard-hitting and cheerful chops.
Bloc Party gave a memorable performance to a full house at the newly renamed WaMu Theater. Before they began, though, Seattle-based Smoosh—featuring sisters Chloe and Asya, who are just 13 and 15 years old, respectively—opened the show with songs from their debut album She Like Electric. The keyboard and drum combo, along with the catchy and fresh lyrics, kept the early arrivers entertained.
Bloc Party unites the finest elements of post-punk energy, pop song craft, and dance floor throb, and imbues it with genuine feeling. Similar to the soul-bearing electro-pop sounds of TV On The Radio and The Postal Service, Bloc Party's songs are built around cleverly crafted pop hooks, synth chirps, sequenced loops, and real drums. Talk to Okereke for just a few minutes, and you'll begin to understand the way Bloc Party songs are made. The act's sound and its hypnotic, hyperactive live shows seem to be the work of either demon possession or divine intervention -- or possibly both. But when it comes to the Party's evolution, Okereke subscribes to a more Darwinian view.
