Blindside Blindside's newest release lacks the blistering intensity and creativity of their previous albums. Where their earlier Tooth & Nail albums displayed the band's aptitudes at their most raw, their Elektra counterparts sanded down the rough edges and polished the group's methodology without robbing them of their hardcore credibility. Silence, in particular, was groundbreaking for the way it incessantly toyed with mind-boggling time signature changes and tempo shifts, with Lindskog switching from singing to melodic screaming and effortless visceral shrieking. All of this is present on The Great Depression, but to a much lesser scale and in a fashion that's disappointingly underproduced. Blindside's music was always meant to be played loud, but with an album this coarse, it's tough to do so without getting a headache.
Blindside released a new EP, The Black Rose EP, on June 27, 2007. [1]. Currently, Blindside is touring the U.S. this October with bands Lorene Drive and Edison Glass. The tour is "The Black Rose Tour." Blindside will be selling limited edition digi paks of the The Black Rose EP on this tour.
Blindside was created by Kable, a consultancy specialising in the public sector, in conjunction with Vega, a specialist in information assurance. In the video, Blindside perform in the middle of a forest while Lindskog chases a girl through the woods, his arms growing progressively longer as he pursues her. Then the tables turn and the young lady chases Lindskog, who flees in fright. "It has a very Tim Burton-esque feel," Grenehed said. "The song made the producer think about running and chasing for some reason."
