Biology is the science of life.[1] Biologists study all aspects of Earth's living things, including the dynamic processes within them that enable them to develop, survive, and reproduce. Those vital processes include the harnessing of energy and matter, the synthesis of the materials that make up the body, the healing of injuries, and the reproduction of the organism, among many other activities.

The Holy Grail of Biology is a quantification of grossness. Currently, researchers must rely on qualitative descriptions such as "icky" or "foul", but this has made repeatable experiments essentially impossible. (Leading some scientists to reject biology as pseudoscience.) Many attempts at gross measurement have been made, but all have fallen short.

The Biology Department offers the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, as well as a minor in biology. Students are provided a strong background in animal and plant biology, microbiology, biotechnology, and health sciences with career possibilities in government, industry, teaching, graduate study, and health professions.

Candidates for the Master of Science degree in Biology must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 30 credits and complete an acceptable thesis based on original research. Students in Medical Microbiology may complete 36 credits of course work without the thesis and must pass a comprehensive examination.

Biology is now a standard subject of instruction at schools and universities around the world, and over a million papers are published annually in a wide array of biology and medicine journals.[1]

Biology is usually taught to high school students by the old and jaded, but ultimatly brilliant, Mr Sheppard. His trademark method of teaching is to hold up two fingers with his right hand in a 'upyours' position, and shout "WEAK AS PISS!". Although he often swears in class and makes racist jokes, he insists that he is only joking.
