Bill Gates: Money
built 139 days ago
Bill Gates' mug-shot shortly after being wrongly arrested for the death of his own brother. In 1998, Bill Gates started a game of Monopoly with Sun Microsystems chairman Scott McNealy and Netscape CEO Jim Clark. Gates quickly took control of Boardwalk and Park Place and from then on, dominated the game, quickly driving Clark to bankruptcy. According to McNealy and Clark, Gates repeatedly engaged in shady business dealings throughout the game, such as forcing them to buy copies of Internet Explorer whenever they landed on his properties, making interest-free loans to himself while acting as banker, and arguing that McNealy and Clark shouldn't get any money when they landed on free parking since it wasn't in the official rule book, even though everyone always plays that way. Also, he took the little hat piece even though Jim Clark always plays the little hat and even called it first.

Bill now had not one but two mother-in-laws after him. Iola Beebe caught up with him once and he miraculously got away with her confidence and money once again. This time to Fairbanks where he managed to strike it rich yet again. or rather, she was and had him thrown in jail for bigamy. He once again demonstrated his extravagant ways by presenting the lawyers, a judge, sheriffs, and court reporters with gold nuggets wraped in twenty-dollar bills and, to top it off, talked Mrs. Beebe into posting his bail. After that he got himself out of the jam by divorcing both women.

Marcus suggests that Bill could pay Michael Jordan's 1997 salary only 1300 times, but that he could buy 902 million subscriptions to TV guide. He's ... fascinated by how much much all this money would be if put into dollar bills. Laid end to end, the Bills would stretch 3.8 million miles -- to the moon and back over 8 times. They could paper over all of Manhatten 7 times, or be stacked 2,690 miles high -- watch out for satellites. They would weigh 40,000 tons -- 100 times the weight of one of those 747s he bought above.
