Children are more likely to graduate from high school and less likely to be involved in violence. Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest, and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States. In 2006, the organization served 250,000 youths, ages 6 through 18, in 5,000 communities across the country in one-to-one relationships. Big Brothers Big Sisters particularly needs male mentors to sign on as volunteers. All it takes is a few hours a couple of times a month.
