Beyonce's first major acting appearance was in a starring role in the 2001 TV movie Carmen: A Hip Hopera, an update of the opera Carmen. In 2002 she appeared with Mike Myers as Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers in Goldmember. A third film appearance was released in 2003. Beyonce appeared opposite Cuba Gooding, Jr. in The Fighting Temptations.

Beyonce is to join Jay-Z at The Prince’s Trust Urban Music Festival™ in her hat trick performance for The Prince’s Trust. After her show-stopping live performances for The Prince’s Trust at Party In The Park and Fashion Rocks, Beyonce has taken time out of her hectic schedule in order to fly to the UK for what is set to be the largest celebration of urban music and culture in the country. Beyonce will join a whole host of other stars and breaking talent including Alicia Keys, Jamelia, Lemar, The Streets, Dizzee Rascal and Amy Winehouse.

At Last Beyonce is heading back to the big screen and once again she will be singing. Sticking to what she obviously knows best, Bey will be playing the role of famed soul singer Etta James in the new movie, Cadillac Records. The Dreamgirls actress will join Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and Cedric the Entertainer in the 1950s-set film, reports AOL.com. Actor Matt Dillon has been replaced by Oscar-winning Brody in the role of Leonard Chess, the founder of legendary blues label Chess Records, after scheduling conflicts forced him to pull out of the project. Filming is due to take place later this year (08) in New Jersey and Mississippi.
