Yep, the 3rd Season of Bewitched is here, and this is the year the show made the change from black-and-white filming to being produced in glorious color! It's truly magical with gorgeous brilliant colors, and with toddler Tabitha discovering her own powers, "Derwood" has more magic to worry about. Maurice Evans returns as Samantha's father, and besides the aforementioned appearances by semi-regulars like Paul Lynde as "Uncle Arthur" there are ... guest spots by Michael Ansara, baseball legend Willie Mays, Norman Fell, and Bernard Fox as "Doctor Bombay".

The foyer decor changed throughout the eight seasons that Bewitched was on the air. Particularly, the wall paper was redone several times throughout the show. The wall hanging changed depending on the script. Sometimes there would be a picture, yet other times a mirror. The Rembrant Girl with a Broom print is readily available through art and poster shops today. A watchful eye may ... find replicas of the mirrors.

In the TV "Bewitched," there was a certain subtle tension built into the premise that carried through from episode to episode. The Stevenses had to find ways to keep the outside world from finding the truth out about Samantha's real identity, not always an easy task what with Endora or Aunt Clara or Uncle Arthur popping in unannounced at all hours of the day or night casting a spell on some poor, unsuspecting mortal or wreaking havoc on the young couple's marital harmony and domestic bliss. This tension is completely lost in the film, as is the conflict between Darrin and Endora that always threatened to end with Darrin being turned into a chimpanzee or a bullfrog and Samantha running back to the effortless ease and comfort of her former existence. There really is no logical or coherent conflict to speak of in this film, just a lot of people running around acting silly to no discernible point or purpose. In fact, the only quality scene in the movie is one in which Isabel and Jack are cavorting around an empty set while Frank Sinatra's version of the title song plays in the background. It turns out to be the one - pardon the pun - "magical" moment in the film.

A bronze statue of Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha from Bewitched is now stationed in Salem's Lappin Park, near the Salem Witch Museum. The dedication was held on June 15th, 2005, and attended by former cast members Kasey Rogers, Bernard Fox, and Erin Murphy, as well as Executive Producer Bill Asher. The tribute is sure to garner years of great photo opportunities for Bewitched fans, who fondly recall Salem as the backdrop of the first eight episodes of season seven.

A local remake of Bewitched, called Hechizada, as the original series is locally known, was made by Telefé, and aired in early 2007. It starred Florencia Peña as Samantha, Gustavo Garzón as Eduardo (Darrin) and Georgina Barbarrosa as Endora. This show adapted original scripts to an Argentinian context, with local jokes, and a twenty-first century setting. However, after a few weeks the show was cancelled due to low ratings.
