An association of six national churches in Benin has invited ABWE to partner with them in leadership training and church planting. The recent church growth in Benin has yielded many new Christians, but there are few trained leaders to teach the Bible. Many tribes and villages are requesting pastors or missionaries to teach them a biblical Christianity and help them avoid syncretism.

In 1993, Benin created the National Commission on the Integration of Women in Development (CN/IFD) within the Ministry of Planning and Economic Reconstruction. The CN/IFD was supposed to coordinate international multi-lateral and domestic development initiatives to ensure the advancement of women. The electricity and water corporation, SBEE has been separated into two different companies, the Electric Energy of Benin (SBEE) and the National Water Corporation (SONEB) but not privatized. At this stage the GOB seems unwilling to privatize this sector of the national economy.
