The piano is one of the three which it is certain that Beethoven owned. It is made by Conrad Graf, who probably gave it to Beethoven on 26th January 1826 (his Broadwood, a gift from the latter, was in very bad repair).

Beethoven's first compositions of thirty-two piano sonatas were op. 2 three sonatas (dedicated to his teacher Haydn). Beethoven proved his achievement and mastery that show the varied characters of the sonatas, the dynamic element in the first sonata in F minor, the more lyric character in the second sonata in A major, and the concert-type of virtuosity in the third sonata in C major.

This is one of the most well known piano sonatas by Beethoven. The Moonlight Sonata was written in 1801 and today, more than ever, it remaines one of the most popular pieces of piano music in history.
