Similar in concept to Konami's Beatmania series, Skillz has players spinning the night away with a special turntable controller. However, it appears that, unlike Beatmania, players will actually be able to create and mix their own music instead of playing along with pre-determined beats and patterns.

Konami's guitar-playing edition of the Beatmania series, featuring a full guitar controller simplified with buttons instead of keys -- players hit the chords in the order on the screen in time to the music. Starting with Guitar Mania 3rd Mix, arcade cabinets were able to be linked with Drummania to allow multiplayer jam sessions (Guitar Mania 6th Mix connected to Drummania 5th Mix).
