Sportsday is a main programme produced by BBC Sport and shown on BBC News 24. BBC Sport's football coverage is usually anchored by Gary Lineker and the main pundits are Alan Hansen, Alan Shearer, Lee Dixon, and Mark Lawrenson, with Dougie Donnelly, Dougie Vipond and David Currie anchoring BBC Scotland programming. The BBC's main commentators are John Motson, Steve Wilson and Jonathan Pearce, and BBC Scotland's main commentator is Paul Mitchell. For many years Barry Davies commentated for the BBC but he is now retired from their football coverage. Des Lynam previously hosted Match of the Day until he moved to ITV Sport in 1999. The programme, which is in aid of Sport Relief, will be shown on BBC One over nine consecutive days, commencing 7 July. Viewers will ... be able to catch up on extra live coverage on BBC Three.
