August 2007: BBC Post Production, part of BBC Resources Ltd, has invested in new non-linear equipment to support its customers in BBC Sport as they move towards a tapeless workflow in a fast-turnaround environment. The first production to benefit from the investment will be Match of the Day, which starts this month.

In March 2007, ITV Sport and Setanta Sports picked up the rights to show FA Cup and England home internationals from Sky and the BBC. In November 2007 the BBC responded by picking up live rights for ten Football League Championship matches from the 2009-10 season, as well as both legs of a Carling Cup semi final exclusively live and shared live coverage of the Final with Sky Sports. In September 2005 it was announced that BBC Sport had purchased the rights to show highlights of the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup, held in the West Indies. BBC Two broadcast 29 hours worth of highlights of the main matches at 11.15pm during the duration of the tournament with an early morning re-run on BBC1 at 5am.

Ghana captain Stephen Appiah is unhappy with the treatment he has received from Turkish giants Fenerbahce and wants to leave the club, BBC Sport understands.
