B.B. King: Life
built 132 days ago
If you've never seen King live, do yourself a favour, and make a point of getting out to see him play. Chances are, he will be visiting your area sometime fairly soon. A musician who has almost literally spent his entire life on the road, King (whom at the time of this writing was approaching his 75th birthday) still plays over 200 concerts all across the world every year. For more information on King's upcoming touring schedule, visit the Pollstar website. But, hurry up and do it soon; who knows how long it will be before B.B. finally decides that he's had enough of the road, and settles into a well-deserved retirement.

At 81, King has lived a very full and active life. He has been a licensed pilot, a known gambler and is ... a vegetarian, non-drinker and non-smoker. King has lived with diabetes for over ten years and has been a visible spokesman in the fight against diabetes, appearing in advertisements for diabetes-management products.

Louise Goffin's Sometimes a Circle was voted best CD of 2002 by visitors to Bob's Page of Carole King. The Greg Wells produced collection of songs garnered 33% of all votes. Much more important than this little honor is the fact that Louise's album received one of the best reviews of the year in Rolling Stone upon its initial release--the once in a life-time type of glowing review that recording artists must secretly dream of getting.
