1. Baseball
   Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each. The goal of baseball is to score [R]uns by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of four markers called bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot square, or diamond. Players on one team (the offense) take turns hitting while the other team (the defense) tries to stop them from scoring runs by getting hitters out in any of several ways. A player on offense can stop at any of the bases and hope to score on a teammate's hit. The teams switch between offense and defense whenever the team on defense gets three outs. One turn on offense for each team constitutes an inning; nine innings make up a professional game.

   With 60 active players in his stable, Gilbert represents almost 9 percent of the 700 Major League Baseball players. In each of the last four years, Gilbert's clients have signed the biggest contracts in baseball, including this year's $43.7 million agreement between outfielder Barry Bonds and the San Francisco Giants. The contract was the richest in the history of baseball.

   Attack of the Baseball Cards was an official store for 2004 National Trading Card Day and on April 3, 2005 celebrated the first anniversary of NTCD with SPORTSCARD DAY. Sponsored by all the major card companies, free sample cards were handed out all day! On Saturday, June 17, 2006, Attack of the Bcseball Cards was a participating store for the first ever, NATIONAL BASEBALL CARD DAY.
6. Backyard Baseball
   Backyard Baseball is a highly acclaimed series of kid's video games for the Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2, GameCube and the PC. Currently all the games in the series have been developed by Humongous Entertainment and published by Atari. It is one of six Backyard Sports games. The original game consisted of 30 neighborhood kids. But over the years, the idea of "Pro players as kids" became popular, and the original stats/look of the players changed.    Higher quality baseball gloves and mitts are usually distinguished by higher grade leather, better construction and better design. These work together to produce a glove or mitt that is durable and helps the ball into and out of the pocket. The highest quality gloves are usually made of heavy leather that will need some time to break-in and typically do not have palm pads or Velcro adjustments.

   Baseball cards have been an irreplaceable part of American culture for over a century. Giving collectors a chance to see the stats and pictures of their favorite players, baseball cards have come a long way in the past decade.
9. Baseball Statistics
   Before the 1870s baseball statistics placed nearly equal emphasis on offense and defense, a balance that reflected Chadwick’s preference for the game’s defensive elements. As time passed... baseball’s offensive statistics came to dominate fan interest. Batting averages, runs batted in, and home runs were the most popular and well-known statistics with baseball’s fans and media. When New York Yankees slugger Babe Ruth hit his record total of 60 home runs in 1927, the number took on mythic status with everyone who followed the game. Each time a player pursued and broke the single-season home run record the chase attracted widespread excitement, as when Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants hit 73 home runs in 2001. Similar significance is attached to hitting for a .400 batting average over a season, a feat last achieved by Boston Red Sox star Ted Williams in 1941.
10. Twins (Baseball Team) -- Twins Baseball
    The Twins are a big drain on the revenue sharing system, but at least owner Carl Pohlad puts the money back into the team despite the billionaire's cheapstake reputation around baseball. Payroll has gone from $16 million to $60 million in five years. The Twins added 130 new sold out luxury seats behind home plate last season that generated almost a $1 million in revenue. To move out from the bottom of baseball's revenue list, the team needs a new stadium. Last year, the Twins had an agreement on a new $478 million park with Hennepin County, but the state legislature wouldn't vote on the proposal to raise the county sales tax. The Twins were to put up $125 million of the cost plus overruns on the construction.
