Bart Simpson, America's favourite underachiever, lays claim to his own comic collection. In an homage to the comics he enjoyed as a kid (such as Little Lulu and Peanuts), Matt Groening presents stories about Bart and the kids of Springfield with adults taking a backseat as comic foils. Big Book of Bart Simpson features several short stories that can be enjoyed by a younger reading audience, but there are plenty of laughs for kids of all ages. It's good old–fashioned fun with the same satiric edge that has made 'The Simpsons' the most successful animated program in television history.

Bart comes from a particular wise family who give out advise to lost youth and found geriatrics on their TV show called, The Simpsons. The word brat in the English language comes from an anagram of Bart.

Bart's most prominent character traits are his mischievousness, rebelliousness, disrespect for authority and sharp tongue. During the first two seasons of The Simpsons, Bart was the show's main character; while later episodes started to focus more on Homer, Bart remains one of the most enduring characters on the series, and has proven to be one of the most iconic characters in the history of American television animation.

On Friday, April 27, it was revealed that America's favorite bad boy, Bart Simpson, would be appearing in the buff in "The Simpsons Movie." The much anticipated first "Simpsons" animated feature will premiere at theaters on July 26, 2007, narrowly dodging an R-rating because of Bart's nude scene. It will, in fact, be the first movie to dodge an R-rating where there's full frontal nudity, animated or otherwise. The scene comes early in the film where Homer challenges his son to skateboard nude through the town of Springfield. And Bart does.

Bart became ever popular throughout the early seasons of the Simpsons, setting pranks, causing mayhem at school and home and making fun of everything and anything he could. This is when "Bartmania" started, and merchandising and popularity of the show skyrocketed. Fan numbers grew and enjoyed watching the Simpsons' early adventures, fronted by Bart.

During the opening credits of The Simpsons, Bart Simpson is shown writing the same sentence over and over again on a chalkboard, the old "write it 1OO times" punishment, which establishes him as a troublemaker. Each episode has a different sentence.
