During the 1990s, Corbin appeared in a number of television shows including Ink, The Closer, The Magnificent Seven, Spin City, JAG and The Outer Limits. He continued to act in films as well, appearing in Timequest, Blackwater Elegy, River's End, The Dukes of Hazzard, Beautiful Dreamer and Trail End. In 2003, he landed the role of Coach Whitey Durham in the teen drama series, One Tree Hill.

Barry holds a Bachelor of Science degree (geology) from Acadia University, a Bachelor of Education from the same institution and a Master of Education in Curriculum Development from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is the co-author of two high school social studies texts used in Atlantic Canada.

Corbin has starred on and off Broadway and in regional theatre in such roles as Henry in "Henry V," Jud in "Oklahoma!," Henry II in "Beckett," Falstaff in "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and the title role of "Macbeth," among others. Corbin ... performs a one-man traveling show, which he co-wrote, called "Charlie Goodnight's Last Night," about the celebrated Texas cowboy.
