Robert Blake on DVD Solidly in the top ten for the 1976 - 77 season, Robert Blake announced he would not return for a fourth year of Baretta because of a contract dispute with Universal. The studio, faced with losing one of its top productions, acquiesced. With an offer of more money and control over every aspect of the program, Blake decided to return.

On October 29, 2002, Universal Studios Home Entertainment released the first season of Baretta on Region 1 DVD in the United States. It is unknown if the remaining 3 seasons will be released.
There's a lesson there for young people looking into careers, Baretta said. An expensive college education is not necessarily the best path for everyone when there are jobs available that pay well and don't require going into debt to pay for school. But some training beyond high school is becoming more essential than ever for these jobs, he added.

Fosters Baretta DVD Working with Fosters’ agency, Hoyne Design, Dogma co-ordinated a live action shoot that demonstrates how simple and efficient it is for bar staff to operate the Baretta unit.
