On Monday, September 9, 1963, Barbra Streisand appeared as the opening act for piano virtuoso Liberace at Harrah's Lake Tahoe South Shore Room. She was touted as "the nation's newest singing sensation . . . who comes to Tahoe from a record-smashing engagement at Hollywood's Cocoanut Grove." In July, Streisand had first performed with Liberace at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas.

The biggest miscalculation was the appearance, late in the show, of a George W. ET confirms BARBRA STREISAND had a slight accident last week in her garden which required stitches in her leg. She had the stitches removed this week. The injury was not serious and the singer is recovering well.

A judge has ordered Streisand to hand over $154,000 to a man she lost a court battle to, after months of delay in reaching a payment agreement. She took photographer Ken Adelman to court for $10 million last year in her quest to have two photographs of her Malibu, California, home removed from his environmental website.
