Bank Check: Cash
built 287 days ago
With the most advanced versions of the bank check printing software, the operator clicks a button to import the document and another button to end a confirmation. The software does the rest. The whole idea of the process is appealing to the merchant who wants to lower costs and improve the cash flow of his business. Efficiency and security are its greatest selling points, and since anyone selling a product or service wants both of those things to be present in the running of his business, there doesn't seem to be a good argument against acquiring check printing software. With as many companies as there are on the Internet offering these services, there are a variety of features and prices to choose from, so it certainly appears to be worth checking out. Check writing has never been easier.

Example of a voided cashier's check, this one issued by Integrated Payment Systems (as evidenced in the lower left corner of the check), on behalf of Community Bank. A cashier's check (... known as a cashier's cheque, bank check, official check, teller's check, bank draft or treasurer's check) is a check guaranteed by a bank. They are usually treated as cash since most banks clear them instantly. However, banks are permitted to take back money from a "cleared" check one or two weeks later if subsequent processing finds it to be fraudulent. Because customers believe the checks have been found valid and have been converted to cash in hand, customers are readily defrauded by schemes which ask them to part with goods or a portion of the money.[1][2]
Customer identification needed to cash a check - State law does not address means of personal identification for bank transactions. Banks may request whatever form of ID they feel is appropriate - even fingerprints - to protect themselves. Check fraud is a serious problem for institutions and banks must weigh customer service against loss prevention when accepting checks.

Just because a bank teller cashes a cashier's check doesn't mean that it is good. Even if it is found to be counterfeit weeks later, you are responsible for returning the funds. Be especially wary of cashier's checks that appear to be from banks outside your local area.

In the United States, under Article 3 of the Uniform Commercial Code, a cashier's check is effective as a note of the bank. Also, according to Regulation CC (Reg CC) of the Federal Reserve, cashier's checks are recognized as "guaranteed funds" and amounts under $5000 are not subject to deposit holds.
