Badfinger was received with weak reviews in music magazine Rolling Stone upon its release. A UK single released prior to the album, "Love Is Easy," failed to chart. A subsequent single released in the U.S., "I Miss You," ... failed. The album only reached #161 in the Billboard Hot 200, making it Badfinger's lowest charting album. The album was re-released on CD format in the 1990s in Japan and Germany only. However, many tracks from this album have subsequently been released on various Badfinger compilation records and CDs.

Badfinger's self-titled album is often considered to be their worst ever, recorded in a state of financial and artistic transition. They had just broken up with Apple and moved to Warner Brothers - a company far more powerful but far less interested in real music.

Badfinger drummer Mike Gibbins website http://www.mikegibbins.com/ has reported he passed away in his sleep Tuesday morning, Oct. 4. Mike was 55. He leaves behind his wife Ellie, two sons and an older son from his first marriage.

Glad to hear from some other Badfinger fans. The Proprietor is right; Stan Polley, the culprit in this story, had ... allegedly cheated a sizable number of other investors and musicians, and did get off scot-free.
