Backyard Wrestling: Wrestlers
built 643 days ago
Backyard Wrestling ... features NPCs (non-playable characters) to add to the fun. At the mansion background, a butler will be standing by near the side with a silver platter. If you go near him youll get wacked by the platter. You can even use a grab move, hurdle your wrestler towards the butler and watch him get smacked. Other NPCs in the mansion background included a man and woman who hurl random things at you if you get too close to them.

This environment is the key element that separates Backyard Wrestling from others in the genre. Since wrestlers are no longer forced to do battle inside a confined ring, the action takes place within open, multi-tiered environments featuring a wide assortment of interactive objects. Players can freely roam around the locales to explore new ways to harm their rival. This could mean leaping off ladders, rooftops, or cars to inflict damage as well as bludgeoning them with a street sign, baseball bat, or tire iron. Wrestlers can smash through houses, throw their opponent into a tree, and interact with pedestrians.

Backyard wrestling videos are produced by the wrestlers of the federation. They are readily available on the internet at any website, and some federations have ordering information about VHS and DVD copies of their matches and exploits. These videos are commonly filmed on camcorders with the cameraman occasionally providing the commentary on the matches. On the internet, most times the matches are shown in montage clips with heavy metal music in the background. There is ... a Documentary called The Backyard about backyard wrestling featuring Rob Van Dam.

After play, the press were treated to some real life Backyard Wrestling thanks to the multiple wrestling entertainers present. The wrestlers literally kicked the crap out of each other with chairs, fluorescent lights, and staples to the head (youch!). As bloody as it was, it was entertainment as its best.
