Baccarat: Baccarat Rules
built 652 days ago
In the game of Baccarat there must be at least one participant to play against the teller who ... acts as the card dealer. Baccarat rules state that the goal of this game is to obtain a point total as close to nine as possible over the road of a 2-3 card hand. Both the participant and the teller are gave two cards initially, beginning with the participant, and the hand that acquires the point total closest to nine without going over, wins. The point values of the cards are very simple to understand. All 10's and face cards have an importance of "0", and all other cards (Ace through nine) are worth their face value (Aces are constantly worth 1). When the sum of two or more cards is greater than ten, the point total is decreased by 10.

Easy to learn and easy to play, Baccarat is a game to be enjoyed by everyone. A total of four cards is initially dealt. The first and third are the Player’s hand, and the second and fourth are the Banker’s hand. Once the initial cards are dealt and exposed, the dealer announces the totals for each hand and additional cards are then drawn in accordance with the rules. (A maximum of one additional card may be dealt to either hand.)

For the bettor, the object of Baccarat is to place a wager on the hand that will at the close of dealing, be closest to '9' in total value, without going over. In Baccarat, all 10-value cards and face cards are counted as zero, Aces are counted as 1, and all other cards are counted at their numerical value. The various suits play no role in this game. If either Baccarat hand has a King and a 2, the value of the hand is 2. There are very strict rules dictating whether, after the first two cards dealt, more are to be drawn. Players in Baccarat have no choice in what cards are drawn and cannot manipulate the outcome.

Baccarat is one of the oldest card games played in casinos worldwide. From its humble beginnings in Italy, it was popularized by France and spread throughout each continent. With this, several types of baccarats emerged, with each type varying slightly in rules. Although this is the case, the object of each baccarat type remains the same, to bet on the hand that values closest to nine.
